Water, fun, the parc des eaux vives
Between Rhine, Jura and Vosges, at the foot of the Sundgau's Hills, Huningue is the very first town on the Rhine.
On the corner of France and Germany, near its powerful swiss neighbour, Huningue has always been attractive.
In 1679, Vauban strengthens the city, raising it as minder watching the navigation. In the French sovereignty; the completion of the channel said about Huningue, in 1828, strengthens a little more the strategic character of the city.
Today, Huningue marks definitively its attachment in the water with the realization of the Park . A torrent in a green setting, in the heart of the city, here is indeed a strong image of current Huningue.
The water, the life, a park : it is the symbol of the spirit of Huningue made by dynamism, by originality and by quality of life.
